Raising the Bar Nomination Form
The Award
The Raising the Bar Award recognizes a business or organization that has developed or renewed a tourism product or package that captures the attention of travelers and thus increases the desirability of the Vancouver Island region as a destination.
The Nominees:
Companies or organizations are encouraged to put forward their own nominations for this award or to nominate a company or organization that meets the criteria outlined for this award.
Criteria and Eligibility:
To be eligible for this award the individual must own or be employed by a tourism-related business operating within the Vancouver Island region. The criteria utilized to select the recipient of this award may include but is not limited to the following:
- New or renewed program or package that has been completed and made available to the public within the past 24 months.
- Product or Package development must be unique and forward thinking.
- Evidence that there is a strong interest by traveling consumers.
- Evidence that there is a strong interest by travel trade.
- Evidence that there is a strong interest by travel media.
- Product or package must be a catalyst for tourism growth in the Vancouver Island region.
- The product or package must be sensitive to the environment.
Submissions:
Nominations for this award must be delivered to the offices of Tourism Vancouver Island no later than 4:30pm on the submission deadline, August 13, 2010.
