Tourism Sustainability Nomination Form



The Award

Recognizes a tourism business in the Vancouver Island Region that has set out to minimize their environmental impact, conserve natural resources, respect local cultures and benefit local communities in the past 12 months. Their commitment to environmentally responsible tourism and changing the way they conduct business serves as an example to the industry.

The Nominees:

Companies, organizations, or individuals that own or are employed by a tourism-related business operating in the Vancouver Island region are encouraged to submit nominations.

Submissions:

Nominations for this award must be delivered to the offices of Tourism Vancouver Island no later than 4:30pm on the submission deadline, August 4, 2011.

The criteria used to select the recipient of this award will be based on:

  • An example of a major initiative that your organization has introduced in the past 12 months to reduce your environmental footprint.
  • An example of how your organization has used the sustainable initiative to market your business and improve the visitor experience.
  • An example of what contributions you have made to improve local environmental conditions and how your initiative has inspired change in your community.
